Mookie’s book nook

Mookie loves to read (can’t imagine where she got that from). While I’ll never be a diligent enough blogger to write down everything she reads, the way a friend of ours does re: her daughter’s voluminous book list, I love to look back at what she was reading at a particular time, so I’ll try to capture a snapshot now and then.

Chapter books (bedtime reading, mostly by Mommy)

June-July 2012 Misty of Chincoteague, Marguerite Henry

July 2012 Pippi Longstocking, Astrid Lindgren

March-April 2012 Dial-A-Ghost, Eva Ibbotson; The Big Book of Tashi, Anna Fienberg, Barbara Fienberg and Kim Gamble; Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, J. K. Rowling

Audiobooks (mostly in the car)

finished July 7, 2012 The Trumpet of the Swan, E. B. White (read by the author)

July 11, 2012 The Giraffe, the Pelly, and Me, Roald Dahl (read by Richard E. Grant)

finished April 13, 2013 The BFG, Roald Dahl (read by Natasha Richardson)

Picture books (read to her)

On her own (books she “reads” aloud, with a mix of memory and imagination)

July 7, 2012 (judging from the pile of books left on the chair in her book nook after a marathon session) My First Spanish Animal Board Book, Elmer’s Friends, A is for Animals, Peek-a-Boo Alaska, Snuffy, That’s Not My Train, The Five Senses, Panda Bear, Panda Bear, What Do You See?, Zin! Zin! Zin! A Violin, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, The Secret Birthday Message, Yum Yum Dim Sum, Goggles, Around the World with Ant and Bee, Colors (flip-a-face), The Tiny Seed, First Book of Sushi, Mangia Mangia, Hanukkah by Alan Benjamin, Fancy Nancy (some or all of: The 100th Day of School, Pajama Day, Every Day is Earth Day, The Show Must Go On)

July 8, 2012 Oh My Oh My Oh Dinosaurs!, What Makes a Rainbow?, Let’s Play/Vamos a Jugar, Baby Food, Pajama Time
